It was announced today on Major Nelson’s blog that the new free games coming to Xbox Live Gold subscribers in October will be “Chariot” for Xbox One and “Battlefield: Bad Company 2” and “Darksiders 2” for Xbox 360.

“Chariot,” an independent game from Canadian developers Frima brought to Xbox One through the ID@Xbox program, is a medieval-themed 2-D platformer that sees players jumping through levels utilizing a chariot to solve puzzles and evade death. It will be available for free download on Xbox One for Xbox Live Gold subscribers starting Oct. 1. The game will also be available for purchase on Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Steam.

Also available for free download to Gold subscribers on Oct. 1 will be “Battlefield: Bad Company 2” on Xbox 360.

“Darksiders 2” will replace “Battlefield” as the free game on Xbox 360 Oct. 16.
